WHY GROUP?

Group psychotherapy is a unique and highly effective form of therapy that has been shown to be extremely helpful with people who are struggling with social isolation, emotional conflict and/or difficulties in their relationships with others. Groups, often in conjunction with individual psychotherapy, can also help people address anxiety, depression, loneliness, shyness, excessive anger, and a lack of clarity with one’s own identity.

How does group help?

An individual’s interpersonal behaviors, attitudes and relational patterns come to life in a psychotherapy group. During group, members learn to be able to see and understand themselves through the eyes of others and to recognize the difference between effective and less effective forms of communication and relationship building. Members also have the chance to provide and receive helpful feedback and learn new ways of addressing their interpersonal needs. Through this process, members are able to enhance self-expression, increase self-esteem, and learn how best to be helpful to others.
